How We Handle Data

Last updated: October 2026

Monitor Doktor is built as a set of plain, pre-generated pages. There are no user accounts, no comment boxes, no newsletter database and no shop. That keeps the list of personal data we touch very short, and this page walks through all of it.

The short version

  • We run no analytics, no advertising and no tracking scripts of any kind.
  • The cookie notice remembers your answer in your own browser and nowhere else.
  • Our hosting provider briefly keeps technical request logs, as every web server does.
  • If you email us, we see what you choose to send, and we use it only to reply.

Data in detail

Hosting logs

Whenever a browser asks for a page, the server that delivers it records a few technical details. We do not combine these records with anything else, and we do not use them to build profiles of readers. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a site that is reliable and protected against abuse (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). The provider processes this data on our behalf and may operate servers outside the European Economic Area; where that happens, it relies on the safeguards the GDPR requires for such transfers.

Your browser's local storage

The banner at the bottom of the page writes a single small entry into your browser's local storage to record whether you accepted or declined. That entry never leaves your device and is not sent to us. Clearing your site data removes it, and the notice will simply ask again. More detail is on the Cookies on This Site page.

Messages

The form on our contact page does not submit anything to a server. It only opens your own email program with a message addressed to us, so nothing is sent until you press send there. Please leave out details about your health: we cannot give personal medical advice, and we would rather not hold that kind of information at all. We read your message to answer it, which is the legal basis of Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, and we never pass email addresses to anyone for marketing.

Links and embedded content

Articles may link to other websites. Once you follow such a link, that site's own privacy rules apply. We do not load fonts, videos or widgets from third parties that would report your visit back to them.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may ask what personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its processing, and receive it in a portable format. In practice that will usually mean emails you have sent us. Write to mail@monitordoktor.com and we will reply within one month. You are also free to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in the country where you live.

When this page changes

If we ever add something that handles personal data differently, this page will be updated first and the date at the top will change.
